JULY 1-14, 2012

PERFORMANCE IS COMMUNICATION at Bearnstow at Mount Vernon, Maine

Come to the woods – swim in a divine body of water, fabulous food, meet Ruth the holder of the Nikolais lineage for theoretical study and work with Sara on performance. Live in a cabin and live in community…

This two-week performance training presents an improvisation format, working with the technical aspects of how the body works. We will focus on developing clarity and presence in performance and work with rhythm, time, and spatial architecture to develop performance excellence. Bring your curiosity and the desire to be in nature. Chi Cultivation—a series of movements that increase energy and stamina of physicality and presence—will be presented. Classes will include solo, duet, and group practice.
