THE BASICS, Moving Alchemy

These introductory practices are designed to develop technical skill and personal inquiry as a conversation through improvisational methods that Sara has been developing throughout her career. The research is always evolving. You are welcome.

The week/the puzzles:

• Solo, Neutral, Follow / Are you in your body?

• Space and Geometry / Space inside and outside, outer/inner geometry. Space moves you, structure is your support.

• 10 Ways / A list for creating movement material from your using all time as now

• Weight, volume, and grounds / Filling the weight-body with space and wrapping yourself into yourself. Partner and the universe.

• Writing for scenario / Tracking as a method for sharpening perception and changing the foreground and background while exploring through prompts.

• Implied Direction / A touch score that retrains pathways and frees the mind, solo and in partnerships.

During the week, other practices such as journey work and healing modalities will appear. Much of the process can be explored as individual practice and/or in contact with others.

Each day will include Chi Cultivation - A series of movement and breath exercises that articulate the spine, work the muscles, engage the systems and raise your physical energy and your consciousness. It is accumulative, creating long term strength and vitality. You become more aware, have more control, and more joy.

These classes are open to all levels.
