Artists’ Bios:
Claire Evangelho researches, performs, and teaches movement with roots in contact improvisation, release techniques, Noguchi Taiso, and site-specific dancing. Her artistic interest lies at the various intersections of task-based improvisation, transparency, neurophysiology, and emergent composition.
Claire was recently an artist in residence with Studio 210 Summer 2025 Residency and a Choreo-Lab Fellow with AXIS Dance Company. Her work has been presented by the FACT/SF Summer Dance Festival and with ODC Pilot 74. She has performed in works by Lizz Roman and Dancers, Jorge Crecis, Amy Lewis, Agua Doce Dance, Carol Keuffer-Moore, and Nketchi Njaka with the DeYoung Museum.
Ezra LeBank (he/him) is Professor and Chair of Theatre Arts at California State University, Long Beach where he has taught since 2011. He was previously Assistant Professor of Theatre & Dance at The University of Montana, and has taught at The Juilliard School, Purchase College, Smith College, and Vassar College/Powerhouse Theatre. Recently he taught Contact Improvisation and acrobatics workshops in Sweden, France, Poland, Germany, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Israel, Estonia, Canada, Italy, Belgium, Australia, Japan, and across the United States. As the Founder & Director of Bossy Flyer & Bad Goat Dance, his original acrobatic dance theatre productions Flight, Back Left, Terms & Conditions, Extinguish, and THREE have toured across North America, Europe, and Australia to critical acclaim including an Off-Broadway run at the historic Barrow Street Theatre. He has also performed internationally at Contact Festival Freiburg, Israel Acrobatics Convention, West Coast Contact Improvisation Jam, Seattle Festival for Dance Improvisation, and more. He is recognized internationally as a specialist in Biomechanics, Partner Acrobatics, Contact Improvisation, and Clown. His book CLOWNS: In Conversation (2nd Edition) is available from Routledge Publishing, UK.
